Soichiro Shimizu, a Japanese painter and sculptor based in Bangkok, whose works have been exhibited worldwide, has embarked on a series of graphic works as a sort of tribute to the Thai photographers he admires.
Well-known for his three-dimensional abstract works, which often deal with the duality of apparently opposed forces, he has been
now launched himself into a 're- looking' process of a set of over- looked photographs, on the verge of being effaced, to which he offers a new life. The photographers "remixed" in this way are all Thai and unanimously lent them- selves to this challenge taking the form of a new incarnation. They include some well-known names from the Thai photography scene: Tawatchai Pattanaporn, Benya
Hegenbarth, Sam Cochaputsup, Pokchat Worasub, Phasin Sudjai
and Cattleya Katie Jaruthavee.
This series of reinterpretations is exhibited in Anteprima Milan Office from period of 24 May-16 Jun. Anteprima's Creative Director, Izumi Ogino highly inspired by Soichiro's work and please to introduce his work at her office place in Milan.
